I am keen to get peoples thoughts (and 3CX's view) on what calculates as a BLF across the 3CX SBC for Windows, Linux and Raspberry Pi.

As per this guide: https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/session-border-controller-comparison/

It states that across the standard SBC (so I presume Linux and Windows based 50 user) that they support 250 BLFs (5 BLFs per phone).

Now not officially stated, but since 50 users = 250 BLF's I think it is safe to assume that the Raspi version would be (since they are 20 users) 20 users = 100 BLF's per device.

So what is the official pitch on what counts for example:

* If you have desk phones (and clients) in CTI mode, does this equate to 1 or 2 BLF's per extension.
* Do speed dials, Shared parking bays, etc count - I would assume they do.
* Can you mis-match extensions BLF's or is it set at 5 maximum per phone/extension.
* Does using more than 1 SBC per site cause any issues, or is there anything to consider.

I can see this sort of question has been asked before but has received no official response or clear answer:
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/sbc-extension-and-blf-limitation.51177/

Now in most cases if a user reported this sort of issue to me I would probably advise they use a VPN connection to get around it, but I think it would be both helpful to know the limitations, and of value to the 3CX forums to understand these figures.

Hello @eddv123

Please look at the academy material for the official specifications of the SBC. The reason i am suggesting the academy as a reference is because the academy is updated with every version.

* If you have desk phones (and clients) in CTI mode, does this equate to 1 or 2 BLF's per extension.
If you have 2 devices behind the SBC on the same extension then its the sum of the BLF keys that counts.

* Do speed dials, Shared parking bays, etc count - I would assume they do.
Shared parking keys do count by speed dials not not as the system does not monitor those. (they do not require a NOTIFY message).

* Can you mis-match extensions BLF's or is it set at 5 maximum per phone/extension.
I am assuming you mean that you can have one device with 2 BLF keys and one with 8. If that is the question then yes you can have can do this.

* Does using more than 1 SBC per site cause any issues, or is there anything to consider.
You can have multiple SBC's per site and distribute the phones amongst them.
