Block outbound caller ID resulting in 'No Route Exists'

Wanting to set up blocking outbound caller ID for select calls from a single extension.

In dial codes Block Outbound Caller ID is set to *5 but if I try and dial a number. E.g. *501234567890 it just ends the call and the call logs show 'No Route Exists'

I have tried creating an outbound rule that allows everything out for that extension but the same thing happens every time

These days you pretty much have to send a valid caller ID to your provider, or the call won't go through. You might check the 3CX Activity Log to see if this is what is happening in your case. What you want to happen, is to send a caller ID but tell your provider to pass on a message telling the final destination (provider) to not show the number. How this is accomplished is going to depend on your provider.

We're currently using Gradwell but we've got numbers on Voip Unlimited and both don't allow the *5
 
Hi,

the function *5 will replace the number send out with Anonymous.
This is not always supported by providers, as being a part of the call information/authentication.

Often you will than see an ERROR come back like "603 Declined" from the provider.
I do think there is nothing you can do to change this, try to communicate with the provider how to resolve this.

This could have been the reason why 3CX does not support the provider anymore, I don't know

Just tried Gradwell and anonymous works just fine. Check your outbound rules and make sure your call matches the correct one. Also you could potentially run a pcap and see if the call is going to the provider or not. That will tell you where to check.
