Hello everyone

I am trying to determine pros and cons of setting up 3CX in three locations in a bridged configuration or one system with two SBCs. SBCs have worked well for me in the past, but I don't have any experience bridging systems together.

For those with experience, what use cases justify having three separate systems bridged together in the above scenario vs one system with two SBCs at the remote sites? Hardware isn't an issue because I have hypervisors with power to spare at all three locations. There are currently 70 users at the main office and less than 10 at each of the remote offices. The sites are currently connected via VPN with fiber circuits at each location.

I appreciate any feedback.

Hi @clearedgeseth,

Since the sites are already connected via VPN you shouldn't need bridges or SBCs, the IP phones should show as local and paste the provisioning link into the phone's interface (manually provisioning) and you're good to go.

If you did not have VPN, then, multiple installs, using Bridge trunks would be a better choice if you were replacing a PBX, at a site, that had local trunks, using a gateway. In addition, those trunks could not be "routed" back to another , host PBX, because either they could not be converted to SIP, or because of service boundry limitations (provider won't allow service outside a country).

If no local trunking were required, then an SBC is usually a better choice. Of course there are exceptions, bandwidth, and ISP reliability, being a couple.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll start with one system at the corporate office and just connect over the VPN.
