A plain-language guide to choosing between separate PBXs, centralized call control, local phones, and shared site connectivity.

Multi-site 3CX deployments usually begin with a choice about where call control should live. A bridge links separate PBXs so sites can call each other. An SBC connects local phones to a PBX at another site or in...

One question while speaking about bridges.
Is it supported to make a bridge between 2 tenants / departments of a multi-tenant 3CX server ?
So that 2 different companies / sites / whatever... can call each-other internally.
Thank you !

If I understand the question correctly, the core of it is: can an MCM system bridge onto itself? First let us clarify that the core concept of MCM is tenant isolation, and we are considering a way to bypass that, a bad idea to start with.
But to answer, no, a PBX (MCM or otherwise) will not bridge to itself.

If it is two separate companies, there is no reason for them to call each other over any kind of internal shortcut, those calls should be going over each companies trunk with proper caller IDs etc.
Companies where not all users can fit in one department/tenant are also no true candidates for MCM.

Even if this bridge could be made, in each case it would always be a less than optimal solution.

Many thanks @KyriacosS_3CX for your detailed answer.
Yes, the question is correct, can a MCM system bridge onto itself.

We have some cases with let's say 3 different companies in the same building, working on projects together, for the same final customers. Hence having the hability to make internal calls could be interesting, as some of the guys from these 3 companies really work together.

Anyway, understood :-)
Thank you again !
