Excellent work guys, we have been awaiting this feature, while it isn't as specific as competitors, it should work for 99% of people's requirements. This will make a huge difference for our teams and allow for better training options. (no more funky workarounds)

Pro tip:
if you want to share a video with audio but not all your pc audio., open the video file with chrome and share the chrome tab. it actually has a video player built in.

When I worked for a bank in the past, I used this to work around video playback for users who did not have a "proper" video player installed.

2nd pro tip:
Want to share a powerpoint? open it with powerpoint on the web, then you only get the audio for the presentation.

Can you imagine someone working from home presenting and then all of a sudden avast comes out with "VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED" - That used to scared me to death when I had a headset on.

That's great, does that work for iOS only? or Windows too?

The audio from the screen share can be received by any client with the video feed of the presentation.

However, the inclusion of Desktop Audio is only working on Chrome or MS New Edge browser and is available for Windows, macOS or Chrome OS.

*On macOS you must grant permissions to the browser to be able to record the screen!

This is available in "Your entire Screen" and in "Chrome Tab"

It would be very very nice to share it also for applications.

We use VLC to share a Video before the Webinars start, so everyone can check his Audio.

As a workaround we start VLC in fullscreen on a separate Monitor and share the whole screen.

you already found the solution as there is no driver we can use to just tab into the audio output of a single application. Chrome provides this for a Tab to us or the OS for the system.

Hi,
I just found this post after having experimented with the options of transferring audio in a web conference. I realised that even when sharing specific windows, the audio transfer sometimes worked, but always. I ended up using Virtual Audio Cable to create a virtual interface and then stream the audio of the application I was wanting to share as well as my microphone into that device. In 3CX webMeeting I then used the Virtual audio device as the microphone. This worked but wasn’t an easy solution.
I feel it might be practical to be able to select another Input device in the audio options for the conference. That way one could feed the audio to be shared to some other output device (real or virtual) and have that transferred on in the conference.

2nd pro tip:
Want to share a powerpoint? open it with powerpoint on the web, then you only get the audio for the presentation.

For one of our clients this solution should suffice.

Nevertheless I would like to see a more competitive toolset in the future what content sharing is concerned in the webMeeting. But thanks a lot for making it work over the web browser. Much appreciated.

I am struggling to get the audio sharing to work. I have two windows computers using chrome Version 84.0.4147.125. We just updated our 3CX PBX to 16.0.622. I have tried every combination of window / tab sharing and no dice. Any ideas?

Check as well to see if the issue follows to other client's on the machine (or yourself logged in) as this will tell you if its local profile related

I have tried across a few different computers, no permission issue as there is no domain environment. I appreciate the thought. I submitted a ticket with 3cx with network captures of different users joining a session and playing media by different presenters and different sharing methods, and the only shared audio is from the mic input.

Well I feel silly. I didn't see the check box at the bottom of the screen share selection.
At least i got it figured out.
