I would like to integrate my access control application with 3cx user's extension status ( Away/Avaible )
any suggestions ?
thanks
Giulio

it's simple: my application writes the status of the employee in a db field (sql server).
so I wish I could contextually change the status of its extension (3cx).
honestly I have already tried for simplicity to write directly in the db of 3cx, but without result ....
UPDATE extension set currentprofile="+cstr(rs3CX.Fields("idfwdprofile"))+" WHERE fkiddn="+cstr(id_estensione)

Updating the 3CX database is definitively NOT the way to go. That is extremely dangerous, a wrong update could potentially break the system, so please do not do that.

The 3CX configuration is updated through the Call Control API. Unfortunately this API is for internal use and there is no documentation about it.

A CFD app can do this for you, by using the Set Extension Status component, but you would need to make a call to this CFD app in order to make the change.

i can use CallTriggerCmd.exe for make the call ?
i have make a test from command prompt-> CallTriggerCmd.exe -cmd makecall:12
but i receive only a message 51:1 ....
some advice

The CallTriggerCmd.exe is a program available with 3CXPhone for Windows, and it works with the extension configured for that client.

You can use it to make a call, for example:
Code:
CallTriggerCmd.exe --call=12

That will make a call between the 3CXPhone extension and the extension 12.

You can also use CallTriggerCmd to change the current user profile, for example:
Code:
CallTriggerCmd.exe --set-active-profile=77

will change the current profile to Available. You can get the list of profile codes by executing:
Code:
CallTriggerCmd.exe --profiles

Please note that, as I mentioned above, this will work on the current extension configured for this 3CXPhone for Windows instance. So you can't do this from a centralized place. But, if your CRM runs on the client/agent PC, then this might be a solution for you.

CallTriggerCmd.exe --call=12 ---> 55:1 but not ring
CallTriggerCmd.exe --profiles --->
18 Out of office
19 Custom 1
20 Available
16 Custom 2
17 Away
-1 Exceptions
-2 CustomHours

CallTriggerCmd.exe --set-active-profile=17 ----> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: Function call is not allowed

Hello @ags,

What license do you have activated in your 3CX server? Is it STD or PRO? Because this is only available with PRO, so that could be the issue...

Regards.

opppsss
you are right
now i have tested in a environment with pro license:
CallTriggerCmd.exe --profiles --> OK
CallTriggerCmd.exe --set-active-profile --> OK
CallTriggerCmd.exe --call=002 --> no ring --> message 147:1

CallTriggerCmd.exe --call=002 --> no ring --> message 147:1
You can check the 3CXPhone for Windows logs from "%AppData%\3CXPhone for Windows\Logs". If there is any error making the call you will see it there. When you execute that command, 3CXPhone will make a call from the local extension to the destination number you have set. Please ensure that 3CXPhone is registered and can make calls to that number when you dial from the pad.
