Hi Guy’s

Please let me know if anyone has come across this and if it is a Software or Hardware issue, I currently have 3CX Sip server (free version) and a D-Link DVG-6008S VOIP Gateway. What is happening is when I make a call the call ends anywhere between 20 seconds and 10 minutes, it is very frustrating as call’s are being dropped every few seconds. If anyone has some sort of solution to this problem, please let me know.

Thanx

Fritz

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

What kind of phones are you using?

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

Hi Archie

It's D-Link DPH-120S x 7 and DPH-140S x 1, then I got two SIP-DECT cordless phones and two Ethernet phones (Not sure on the make). They all run off Ethernet ports and connect to a D-Link 1GB 16port switch.

Hope this helps as all phones do the same thing.

Thanx

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

No, it doesn't help because we didn't have experience with such phones. Could you provide some logs?
Does it matter if call is ext-to-ext or ext-to-outside?

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

Hi Archie, thanx for your reply. These phones are South African phones, but it is only ext - outside (cellphone or lnad line)

We are using a PSTN lines and not internet, the codec of 3CX, Voip gateway and phones are all the same, G729.A (I think this is right) is the one that is first priority. I have sent log's to D-Link in Taiwan hoping the designers can shed some light on the subject. But all I am trying to get an answer for is if I need to look at 3CX (If this is a know issue) or Voip gateway (Once again if it is a known issue using PSTN lines)

Besides that Archie I am 100% happy with 3CX, of all the SIP software we tested 3CX is top's, from voice mail to digital receptionist...all works 100%, only snag is this dropping of call's.

that is all I got, and as you can see it say's "CONNECTED"; "Talking", then "FXO Detect UDT Busy(0)"; "PlayBusyTone"

Hope this helps.

Thanx

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

First, free version of 3CX PBX doesn't provide G729 support
Second, try to adjust tone/voice settings at Patton to your country. It seems it mistakingly recognise Busy tone in an audio conversation. Try to use another codecs also. Ask your Patton dealer to help in setting up Patton gateway.

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

Thanx Archie will try what you have mentioned above, are you able to tell me what codec the free version of 3CX uses as it's priority?

No. 3CX doesn't select codec (phones or gateways does), so it doesn't have any priority settings. Codec selection depends completely on negotiations between endpoins. (Yes, there're some exceptions, but I don't want to go deep in details).

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

Hi Archie

No need and thank you for clearing up the codec issue. The problem is on the gateway with UDT setting's as it detects random pulses or noises as hangup tones.

Thank you for all your help.

Fritz

Re: Call’s end unexpectedly

You can not use those D-link gateways or phones. You must use supported hardware if you want to use 3CX

I have this problem.
How to set UDT setting: what value to set in Low/High freq in #1, #2, #3, #4?
