Good morning everyone, hope everyone is have a good seasonal break...if you get one. :)

We have a recently made changes to our SIP Trunk provided by Gamma and are now on a resiliant availability one.

The Trunk is working ad during the day we are recieving several hundred phone calls with a very low fail rate (Mainly when our Inbound service informs us the customer Abondoned Whilst Connecting)

However since the new trunk came live 2 weeks ago, we are seeing a number of: Trunk/Provider responds to Request with an error
Call or Registration to NUMBER@(Ln.***@SIPTRUNK) has failed.
GAMMAIP replied: 500 Server Internal Error; from IP:GAMMAIP5060

I am also seeing the same errors with 404 Not Found, 480 Temporarily Unavailable, 500 Server Internal Error, and 484 Address Incomplete.

This wasnt happening on the old Trunk on the old Gamma SIP IP. Is it a 3cx config issue or a Gamma Trunk issue?

Red herring here, GAMMA use IP authenticated SIP trunk solutions and do not register.

What I would check is the public IP address on the GAMMA portal is accurate as well as what you have let through the firewall locally to the PBX.

Also 484 incomplete maybe down to what us being presented on calls, check the format is correct and the outbound rule it uses is not manipulating the number incorrectly.

FYI unlike some providers GAMMA do no require international formatting of numbers.

Thanks for the swift resposne. The PBX is hosted locally. and firewall rules are the same as they were under the old SIP (with the Trunk IP having been amended)

Are these calls originating within the PBX to outside? The company lines dont open until 9am (and the staff that are in before hand wouldnt be using the phones) We have a number of these emails overnight "out of hours".

Ah OK, best to run a PCAP trace on the PBX out of hours and ensure that the trunk is not getting hack attempts (a PCAP can confirm this very easily). As these 484 errors might (might being the definitive word here) be call attempts to premium numbers.

The one thing about GAMMA which is a relief is that they have a very good call barring and fraud prevention system in place.
