hey all!

just curious as we have a charter school that plays some lengthy passing period music as overhead pages. but their phones are also in the paging groups.

when the front desk tries to call a teacher while a passing period page/music is playing, of course the phone is playing it too so they can't hear that they have an inbound call on the 2nd line key. is there any way to give phone call priority and have it terminate a page on that phone? i want to say no, but curious if anyone does it.

these are all yealink phones, T4x series.

thanks,

Hi @network51

The paging event already has a higher priority than normal calls, so in this case you are "using it up" already and since it is engaged with a higher priority page than the next incoming call won't arrive.

Are they open open to different solutions for playing music? For example PA speakers could be used for this so they don't tie up the phones

we are actually using both overhead speakers and voip phones for paging. speakers in the hallways of the school, phones in the classrooms.
