Greetings,

I am looking to find out which number a caller dialed to reach one of our phone systems. We have many unused numbers on the SIP trunk so they just follow the routing on the trunk itself instead of having a inbound route (which I know can be named and presented on the phone screen).

I can find the call in the call logs, but it just shows the final destination (extension that eventually picked up the call).

When I generate a report, I can see how the call was routed in the system and the caller ID information, but it doesn't tell me which number they dialed. The problem is there is approximately 60 numbers that route the same way on the trunk.

What would be the best way to find the DID called by an external party? I'm wondering if I'm overlooking an easy way to obtain this information.

Hi @scambell_adnet,

You're not overlooking anything here, if your single Trunk has multiple DIDs then the Trunk / DID report will only show you the count, not specifics.

What I'd suggest going forward is have each DID route to a corresponding IVR - DID 1 routes to IVR 1 then follows the route it normally would from there. This way you can run a Call Report and find the Caller ID, which will correspond to an IVR it reached, and thereby determine the DID dialled.

I believe you can get this information from the CDR files, and build your own report. I would recommend you give each inbound rule a name which contains the DID number.

If you need help processing CDR files in an automated way, you may want to consider looking at our 3CX Exporter tool. Exporter will automatically parse the CDR files and replicate the data to a SQL / MySQL database server. From there you can use any reporting tool to create custom reports (Power Bi, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services, Excel, etc.).

Hi @scampbell_adnet

In JEDWare Reports you will be able to search for almost anything and follow the actual call through your system, from start to end.

Feel free to try it out
