I am new to 3CX, having started the basic training course earlier this week.

I have got 3CX running nicely in my home office, with a new Yealink SIP-T23G handset. Simple to provision and working nicely with two incoming numbers associated with the extension.

To compliment this, I am considering adding a Yealink W52P DECT phone so that I can transfer calls to this and wander around the office with a handsfree unit.

I have two questions: -
  1. Can I transfer calls from the T23G to the W52G?
  2. Would they both need to have the same number associated with them, or could I have one incoming number linked to the T23G and the other to the W52G, and transfer calls freely between them?

You can transfer fine with the same or different extensions.

I have a retail company set this way. Each store has a T23G and a W52 with the same extension number. You will need to enable accept multiple calls in extension/forwarding rules and you are good to go.

Thanks for the reply!

I was planning on putting my home number on the W52P as a seperate extension. But then if I took a work call on the T23G I could transfer it to the W52P even though it’s linked to a different incoming number.

That way the work phone could have different office hours to the home phone but I could still use the home phone as a work phone if I wanted.

As all phones are linked to the same PABX system, you will be able to transfer calls between any of the extensions.

W52P transfer video -

On the T23G, when you are on a call one of the function keys is named 'Transfer' - you just press this key followed by the extension
