Every phone system I have worked with previously when transferring a call, once you hear the line ringing, you can hit transfer, hang up, and the line will continue to ring until the person or the persons voice mail picks up that extension. The problem I am having now is someone calls in, when transferring the call the person transferring has to stay on the line until the person at the other extension picks up or their email picks up. If you hit transfer while the line is ringing, it just terminates the call. Is there any setting to fix this, and retain the call while the 2nd extension is ringing?

10:34:38.868 [CM503008]: Call(20): Call is terminated
10:34:35.576 [CM503025]: Call(20): Calling Ext:Ext.115@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060]
10:34:35.529 [CM503004]: Call(20): Route 1: Ext:Ext.115@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060]
10:34:35.529 [CM503001]: Call(20): Incoming call from Ext.107 to <sip:[email protected]>

Thanks

There are two types of transfers, attended and unattended (or Blind). Whereas many older PBX's would handle the transfers in a similar manner, 3CX does not. To do a simple flash, (obviously using an ATA) is an attended transfer.

Many ATA's have a star code (Linksys is *98) that you have to dial (after the initial flash) , before you get another dialtone, to do an unattended (Blind) transfer. Most SIP phones have a dedicated key(s) to accomplish this in a less complicated manner.

Thanks for the response, *98 works to transfer the calls without waiting for the 2nd extension to be picked up. My next question is there a setting somewhere to make blind transfers the default and attended transfers use a * code?
