Call waiting

We have D865

When I'm on a call and another call is coming in on older installations we heard a beep and then as soon as hung up current call the phone would ring and the second call can be answered.

I'm not able to see what option to set in the current version to enable this?

Hi,

Can confirm this works in V18/V20 with an audible beep if you enable accept multiple calls on your extension.

So we do get a beep when on a call and another caller internal extension tries to call.

If I'm on a call from the ring group and the phone is ringing no beep. If I hang up my call while the other phones are ringing it doesn't ring mine.

Previous versions used to do this and I think on the SNOM300 the second line light flashed.

I have a D865 so hoped it would do that

Yes it is will be the same ring group

Then unless things have changed in version 20, that will not be possible (at least, not in a way that is supported). Check the links I provided. The same question has been asked many times.

The thinking probably goes.. ring group calls can (usually) be answered by a number of people (that's why you are using a ring group), and if you are already engaged in a call, someone else idle, in the ring group should be there to get that new call.

Yes but say there are 4 people on calls and a 5th comes in. Everyone gets a beep and an indication on their phone to indicate another call coming in. When one of the hangs up they can get the next call.

At the moment when this happens 1 user is idle and not able to answer the new call.

The normal way ring groups operate is that is all members are polled when a new call comes in, the members are not re-polled to check and see if one has gone idle while the call is ringing. In the past there was (and maybe is), a way to do what yo want. However is has never been supported and the suggestion, from 3CX is that it can cause unforeseen issues. The information on how to implement this is on the forum, but, until this is incorporated as a valid feature, you will be unsupported, if other issues arise.
