We have an issue with our duty cell phone.
When someone rings one of our DIDs it is put through to an extension that has the cell number as the destination if the extension is busy or unregistered.
This works as required except incoming calls to the cell phone presents the DID number as the caller ID not the original callers number. This makes it impossible to return missed calls.
Is there any way to present the original caller’s caller ID to the cell phone when the call is diverted?
Thanks

Hello @Simon P

That would depend on your provider and the ability to support Clip No Screening. That way you could forward the originators caller ID to the cell phone.
Alternatively you could provision a 3CX client on the phone and take calls there directly if the phone as internet.

Who is the provider? (Others may have had the same experience using them).

The DID number is not normally used when call forwarding, this may be the result of, in which field this information is being sent, and which field is set, in the outbound trunk parameters, to be used for caller ID. There are a number of options dealing with that.

Be aware, that changing any of these may have an adverse affect on more than just forwarded calls, so make sure you document the original settings before making any changes.
