Ive got a client forwarding calls after time out to a automatic AI answering system (wish 3cx had this) that talks to a client about what ever and then emails this info back to the business

Now with the call forward We are wishing to push the Callers ID though to the AI

I've looked around and found old posts to making this happen on V16 and V18 but now with V20 we have lost ALOT of configurability on trunks (even to make my trunks work we have to import a trunk profile from V18 as it imports settings we cant set in V20)

How would you setup V20 to allow Caller ID Passthrough back out the trunks??

Also with this I'm not using a 3cx trunk provider and using a 3rd party so we need to be able to configure this.

Hi @Anthony - Sedcom

You will need to ensure your Trunk is setup correctly with the P-Asserted Identity.
It will be settings on the Trunk for sure. We have seen this many times.

Once that is all working, then the call will pass correctly with the original callers CLI in the header.

Best,
Lance

FYI you can copy one of the new generic templates and modify it to match your settings and import it. This will allow you to have some of those fields back if they are defined in the XML file including your From User options for caller ID.

I am sure the AI answering service is awesome, but I wonder whether you could get 95% of what you need fairly easily from a Call Flow Designer application?

You could ask questions (audio prompts), record the user's response, transcribe the response, and then ask AI (based on a provided list of choices) which choice most closely matches the caller's request. This approach is straightforward, and very inexpensive compared to paying for two phone calls and the AI service.

Hi Anthony, i have a similar issue. i use Ribbon SBC as the trunk provider so have to use default template with no support, not that i have support other than this forum. anyways i got it working on my system. here is the changes i made to the default sip template the highlighted one seemed to fix it. i also originally changed the remote party id to originator and p assert identity to originator. it didn't change anything but not sure if they are needed also.hope this helps.

here is how my caller id settings are on my trunks1752859502722.png

an additional note if you set your system up with version 18 and upgraded to V20 and you happen to set the trunk template up as call centrix all you have to do is set the remote party id and p assert identity to originator caller id in the 3cx caller id control and it will work. no template stuff. if you set them up as voxtel it will not work that easily and you will have to reprogram your trunks using default template and modify the template as i said above. V18 use to let you pick any provider and set it up no authentication. they got rid of that in v20

@Anthony - Sedcom did this work similar boot with client and AI answering service mainly text back and option to handle call. But it keeps going to their default number instead of originators.
