Hello: Wondering how do I get caller ID to work. my polycom 501 shows "annonymous:5060" when a pstn call comes in.

More info on my setup:

3cx version: 4.0.3287
patton 4118. 4fxo and 4 fxs lines

currently testing with 1pstn line and 1 polycom 501.

Again trying to figure out how to get the caller ID function to show the number of the incoming call on my pstn line. Currently it shows annonymous:5060

Please post your 3cx console log and patton config file here for us to investigate your issue.
 
Is your provider CLID enabled?
 
No sure what you mean by ClID. I am not using a voip proider. only ptsn line.

Yes caller ID works with my analogue phones.
 
Which type of CLID config at your Patton gateway, ETSI or Bellcore?
 
Never even thought to look in the paton config for type of CLID config. I'll take a look.
 
CID at the FXS port cofiguration is set to etsi. What should I change it to?
 
If you are in the United States it should be Bellcore.
 
ok Bellcore for fxs and fxo ports?
 
For incoming call you must set the CLID type match your provider's CLID type at FXO port. For the analog phones, the CLID type you must set it match you phone as well. If your provider's CLID not etsi nor bellcore, I think Patton at this version not support FSK and DTMF.
 
switching to bellcore did not work.

Purely as a matter of eliminating possible problems go to your 3CX management console/Manage Lines/Manage Gateway/Other Options and make sure that where it says "Caller-ID is in 'user' part of (one of following):" you have the "from" field checked and where it says "Called-Number (for inbound calls) is in:" you have the "To" field checked.
 
CLID only works with bellcore, keep in mind that CLID uses DTMF in the first few seconds of the call.

If you routing is to fast (eg the DTMF for CLID is not received) your CLID will NOT be displayed. 3CX does not encquire on CLID the ATA will.

Check if your Answer Call or Pick-up parameter is not to low (eg the line is picked up to fast) try to let it ring a little longer that gives the ATA the time to determine the CLID, which than will be passed on to 3CX.

Do a search on the forum, there has been a fair bit of writing about this subject especially from IT Farmer :-).

Referred to your config file, there is not found any Caller ID type had been defined. I just add the caller id type of Bellcore to your config.

If it still not works. Then try to change "bell" to "etsi". If it both type are not work. Your phone line may be use others format of CLID that Patton not supported. As I know that Patton at current version only support bellcore and etsi.

I updated the configuration file and added "caller-id format bell" to the fxo section you like suggested and did not work. also tried to change it to etsi but still no difference.

anybody in the us has this working?
