We've got a customer with a 48 simultaneous call license. SIP Trunk from the provider allows as many calls as needed, so we set the Sim Calls to 41 to allow for some internal calling when there's an event prompting people to call in. Today we're seeing the call limit reached by incoming calls on the trunk. That did not happen with previous versions. What/where can we check to see why this isn't working?

  1. Include the basics so we can better understand your system setup
    • 3CX Version,Enterprise Annual 18.0 Build 908
    • Server OS, Linux
    • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Hosted in Azure, deployed using 3cx tools over a year ago
    • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware version, Irrelevant, Yealink Sip-T33G
    • Provisioning Method: SBC Pi
    • Trunk Provider or VoIP Gateway Make/Model, Local provider SIP
    • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
    • Are custom Phone Templates being used: Som

The “number of calls in use” will include internal calls. If you click that line it will list them all.

Of course it will. But I checked the list and they were all incoming from the SIP trunk.

You may want to set a limit with your provider as well, I have never seen 3cx allow more than what is set, however if you can put a limit from your provider, this may help.

We've also never seen it allow more than the value set. (That's one reason I posted here; so the dev's can see it, maybe it's a bug).
We're going to see if the provider will limit the calls coming in and set up a second trunk so that they can still make calls when there's severe weather and the calls are overwhelming the system.
