Hello you specialists out there.

I just set up my (free) hosted SMB config.
I currently have 4 Yealink T41S phones connected to a FritzBox. Due to changing network configs, I wish to move over to 3cx to handle my calls.

I have set up a local SBC server (linux version, running on proxmox VE), that show up with a green light in de 3cx admin console.
I have factory reset one of the T41S. The phone is running the latest available firmware.

I then created a user, ad added an IP phone. As the T41S itself is not listed, I chose 'Yealink T41' from the list. Somewhere in the config I chose the SBC as 'gateway' (don't remember the exact phrasing)

I entered the provisioning URL i received from the 3cx console into the phone and rebooted.

Unfortunalty, I end up with 'no service' on the phone. Tried the same and filled in the username and password from the 3cx console into the phone, with the same result

Is a T41S unusuable? Did I do something wrong? Or do I have to dos some manual work?

Suggestions more than welcome :)

Hi,

Yes you can.

1. Are you sure it doesn't appear?

2. Are you certain the SBC was selected for that particular phone?

3. Did you install the latest 3CX-supported firmware? https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/

4. We have never tested the SBC on Proxmox, it might not work at all especially if the network is not bridged. So you should try installing the SBC on a standalone machine using our instructions and supported OS options: https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/

5. You should never really need to paste the link in the phone. If everything is done correctly (the SBC is up and running and accessible properly on the network) you can then simply add the phone MAC and model to an extension, select the SBC and when done you can factory reset and wait for the phone to pick up its config entirely automatically.

Sorry, error on my side.. It's T41P (not S)....

Yes I can confirm it still works for now, it appears as just "T41". And everything else I said still stands.

Problem was the firmware... I flashed the 3cx version, and all went fine.

FYI: SBC on proxmox works without any issue.
