Can I use 2 desktop apps at once

I am testing an SMB system along side my existing 3cx version. Is there a way to use two desktop apps, one for each, or do I have to use the Web app for the second one. Both are up and running without any issues.

You can not provision a desktop app on multiple extensions or run 2 simultaneously on the same computer. You can, though, run the desktop app and a webclient from different extensions to test with or even have one provisioned with the 3CX mobile app.
