Can only dial Extensions one way between slave and master

i setup a Bridge between my headoffice (master) and branch (slave). i can successfully dial extensions from my branch -> HQ but it does not work the otherway. i see the following error in the HQ:

Call or Registration to 5022@(Ln.10001@HQ-DXB Master Bridge) has failed. 0.0.0.0 replied: 408 Request Timeout; internal
SIP Server ID: 12294

what could be the issue?

That depends on your configuration. Are you using a prefix or dialing directly? If you are have you accounted for that prefix in your outbound rules? Are both systems on the same version? What version PBX are you running?
A few screenshots of your settings of the bridge and your outbound rules would help us understand what the issue might be.

i have setup a prefix... and set the prefix in the outbound rules.

The master is on version 16.0.16

Your systems need to be in the same version for the bridges to properly function as mentioned in the v18 release blog post

oh i see. darn.. the version 16 is managed by another team. i will need to get in touch with them.

One last question, will there be any impact to the existing users after the upgrade?

There shouldn't be anything too different for the users but I always recommend going through the release notes of each version to see what changes have been made and if there is anything to look out for.

And of course backups are always necessary before an upgrade.

I upgraded thee Master to version 18.0. so now both sites are on the same version. however now i cant make calls in either direction! Please help.

the error i see in the dashboard log is:

yes, i have a green dot on both ends

Are you using a tunnel connection or direct? Try a restart on both systems if you haven't done so already.

But calls still dont go in either direction. i ran a Firewall test and i get a success for all except port 9000, even though in the firewall the port forwarding is for the range 9000-10999 UDP. could this be he reason?

Are you getting any errors in the activity log when you are trying to call between the 2 systems? Also I noticed that in the screenshots you provided that from the master to the slave you do strip the 7 but from the slave to the master you do not.
How are dialing the numbers from one system the other? Can you provide an example?

i had removed the strip from slave-> master to test if the error changes. but it did not. i strip 1 digit on both ends.

Do you mean the activity lot on the dashboard? are there any detailed logs somewhere else?

The activity log is on the dashboard yes and it has various different logging levels you can enable. On verbose logging it provides more than enough details.

Do not forget to STRIP the 7 (1 digit) in the outbound rule if it does not correspond to your destination extension (The Distant PBX)

And try set your rule on the "Emergency number" ... to force rule prioritization
