I've liked 3CX thus far. We are a phone vendor that support various brands of PBX's. My question is, can the 3CX SBC be utilized as a generic SBC with other brand phone systems or is it made to only work specifically with a 3CX PBX? The issue we're facing, on this other-brand PBX using SIP trunks via an external SIP provider, if an external call comes in destined for an extension that is forwarded to the user's cell, there is no audio. I can see in the packet captures that the PBX is not tying the audio streams together - it is sending the notification upstream expecting the provider to do that, which they do not support. I see that the 3CX has the "PBX Delivers audio" option under advanced which I presume means the PBX remains the middle-man for audio between the two legs of the call. I'm not sure if a 3CX SBC has that same capability (I'm very new to 3CX) so I'm exporing options - trying to determine if a 3CX SBC would help me resolve those RTP/audio issues. Replacing the existing PBX is not an option for this custimer right now. Thank you for whatever feedback you can provide on this.
