Can someone please explain what is 'packet time in milliseconds'?

When you look at Multicast options for Paging (when you select a Ring Group that has its Ring Strategy set to Paging Multicast), what does the packet time in milliseconds mean or represent? Thank you!

This is the packetization timer in VoIP. It's set in the SDP message and defines the length of each RTP packet that's sent.

A lower time value leads to more packets per second, while a longer time leads to fewer packets per second.

• A ptime of 20ms would mean 50 packets per second.

Thanks for the quick reply, Charles_3CX! We are troubleshooting some multicast issues currently, where random SIP speakers seem to receive the multicast signal (the speakers' green lights go on), but nothing will play out of the speakers. In our troubleshooting, would it be beneficial then to set the packet time to say 60 milliseconds (fewer pps), to possibly rule out bandwidth issues? Thanks again!

You can take a packet capture from the 3cx side and the destination speaker, if options exist, to check the communication without making any changes.
