I have a Dr that would like to block the caller id on outbound calls but only for her extenison. Is this possible? I removed the outbound caller id on her extension but it is still showing up when she makes an outbound call from her extension. Is this a function of the SIP trunk outbound caller id in 3CX?

After doing this, I have to assume that the main trunk number is now being sent, rather than her DID number...correct?

There is only 1 SIP trunk from Flowroute which is the main number and no othere DID's. I can see that there is an option to block outbound caller id (*5) in dial codes but how do I set that up just for 1 extension? There are only five extensions in all. Would this be from the SIP trunk and not the extension sending the caller id info on all outbound calls?

The Doc would need to use the dial code every time she wants to hide her caller ID. Using the dial code is NOT a one-time fix. It must be entered by the Doc with each and every call.

That said, it may be possible to set up a 2nd trunk from Flowroute and not specify an outbound caller ID on the trunk, but this is a conversation to have with Flowroute.

As jhogue1975 suggests you could route calls from the Doc's extension out the 2nd trunk. Or you could have the Doc enter a prefix like "9" when she wants to hide her caller ID, and omit the prefix when she does want to show the caller ID. The prefix would be used by your outbound rules to determine whether the call goes out the first trunk or the second trunk.

Put *5 in Extension settings, Outbound Caller ID

Chippy,

Can you explain how putting *5 in the outbound caller ID is going to help? That field is for display purposes and has nothing to do with what number the PBX should dial. Am I wrong?

as 3CX default dial code is *5 to send call anonymously, just add this before the called number

Now if this for lots of numbers and all the time , perhaps it's better to create a specific outbound rule for that extension and add *5 in rule. That's wrong sorry impossible to do this:oops:

Is flow route defaulting trunk number nothing send by 3cx?
Is there some setting on flowroute side to stop sending caller number?

I don't belive you can add it in the rule (unless your provider made use of that prefix), it has to be dialled from the set, to use the 3CX feature. Some providers do allow you to prefix a code, that will then block caller ID for that call. May be worth a check with your particular provider.

Well seen ;) Leejor, I updated wrong part of my previous answer, thanks
