Hi,

I am using 3cx version 18 (update 16)

I could initially add 001 extension. Recently, i deleted this extension and tried to create 001 again. However, i could not and the error is
"Cannot use this number try another one". Pls see below

I tired other 3 digit extension starting with 0 , also cannot add.

However, i can add 3 digit extension starting with 1 e.g. 103

Can anyone advise how i can fix this issue ? (adding 3 digit extension starting with 0)

Thanks.

Hi @Kwang Mien,

Please note that the first extension must start from 1xx, or 1xxx etc. starting from Update 6 onwards.

Pre-existing extensions coming from older systems will still work.

Update 6 disallows extension numbers below 100.

edit: beaten to the punch xD

Hi @GeorgeP_3CX why did u remove this option? We have alot of costumers that have extensions that start with a 0XX.

Is there any way to enable this again because i cant think of a good reason why we would not be able to create extensions starting with 0XX.

You can't, but as a programmer, I can.

It's called integer vs string.

We found a workaround to still create extensions starting with 0XX (All our 3CX are self hosted), but it would be nice if we can do this again using the normal management portal or atleast have the option to decide wether to use 0XX or 1XX and upward.

Im still wondering what the reason behind the removal of 0XX is.

Can you elaborate on the workaround? We have a customer that uses the first two digits of the building number as their extension prefix. Many of them start with a zero, so this change means they can no longer have their extensions organized the way the want to.

Will this be fixed in the next update? I didn't see this in the changelog.

Could you please provide information on the work around for 0xxx extension creation as we also have a customer with this issue.
