Good day

I use a provider in South Africa that is not on the providers list so I set up a generic Sip Trunk. The provider has given me the following details for set up, a domain name, a sip proxy, an username and a password. I cannot get it to register on any of the settings in the generic fields. eg generic sip trunk, generic voip provider etc. It is an onsite pbx and all the firewall rules pass and there is no blacklisted IP's on the dashboard, please advise

Hello @HansSA

The first thing i would recommend is to use a support provider from our supported providers list: https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/
This will save you any from any guessing work and wr can assist since we tested the configuration our selves.

In your case i would check the activity log to see if there is a registration attempt from the pbx and if so if you get an error from the provider. If there is an attempt that is rejected by your provider then your provider should be able to tell you what you are sending wrong.

Thanks for the reply, it was the @ and %40 issue solved by 3 way auth now working perfectly. Provider is Telkom South Africa should anyone ever wat some advise on the setup
