Hello 3CX Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue upgrading the firmware on my Yealink SIP-T42S phones on my 3CX Hosted V20 system. When I attempt to perform a firmware upgrade, I receive the following error:

“Internal server error occurred. Please contact administrator.”

Details of my setup:

  • PBX Version: 3CX Hosted V20
  • Phone Model: Yealink SIP-T42S
  • Current Firmware Version: [insert your current version here]
  • Desired Firmware Version: 66.86.0.180 (latest supported)

I have attempted both bulk and single-phone upgrades, but the error persists. I suspect this may be related to the firmware repository or CDN not being fully accessible for my hosted instance.

Could you please verify if the firmware for the SIP-T42S is correctly available for my hosted region and assist in resolving this upgrade issue?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Hello,

Please do the below and let us know if it's all good:

1. Phones > Options > Unsupported Firmware > OK
2. Phones > Options > 3CX Supported Firmware > OK
3. System > Updates > Download your firmware
4. Deploy the firmware on the phones

This should clear and redownload the firmware, clearing any errors to get you through the upgrade.

This helped me just now, thanks...one server (only) I found I could only update one phone at a time. Checking several and using the Upgrade button didn't seem to do anything except refresh the page. I found if I clicked the (Upgrade) link on one, then quickly a second, the second would show the internal server error. After redownloading, they would update in groups.

This was on 20u7; we're upgrading it to 8 this weekend.

Also please clarify what is the current firmware version of the device,

One of two things. Try and factory reset the phone and try it again. Or you will probably have to step upgrade the firmware if its too old.

These were T43Us. The firmware was current before this last update. I wasn't paying much attention to the old number, tbh...108.87.0.16? .17? All are on 108.87.0.22 now. I was just reporting the above helped.

This solved my issue with Snom upgrading to 10.1.215.13, where I was getting a system error when attempting to upgrade.

Thanks!
