Just got in some new Fanvil X3U Phones with firmware:
Current Software Version:2.4.12.5

And I always re-flash them with the firmware listed here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/

x3upro_2.4.7.5.z --- when I try to to that to the above X3U Pro phone running on 2.4.12.5 I get an error and it won't take.

Is there an updated 3cx approved firmware for Fanvil X3U Pro?

Thanks!
18.0 (Build 939) - Debian - On Prem.

Regarding your question, the approved firmware is from the link you provided, which is 2.4.12.

Contact the vendor for further assistance if the phone cannot take the firmware.

https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/ - this link listed the 3cx firmware which must be used with respective phones.

I went here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/ - Fanvil X3U Pro - it lists
this firmware: https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/v180/templates/firmwareupdates/fanvil/x3upro_2.4.7.5.z - use only that firmware or it's not "supported"

2.4.7.5.z - is the firmware that 3cx is telling me to use. What you have said is not what I have seen before here, many times.

Where is the doc that says an X3u is supported by 3cx running: 2.4.12.

Was hoping 3CX would reach out to Fanvil, as I am doing what I was told.

So the phone is an X3U Pro, not the X3U; in this case, the supported firmware is as stated in the guide as 2.4.7.5.

Fanvil X3U Pro
2.4.7.5
Fanvil X3U Pro FW: Maintenance release

You may reach out to Fanvil to assist you with adding the correct firmware to your phone.

Thanks for contacting us!

X3U Pro cannot be downgraded to firmware 2.4.5.7, because the downgrade operation is prohibited for the protection of the device. (Not the phone problem)

We're doing some tests for the lastest FW of X3U Pro and will send it to 3CX soon. Hopely the lastest FW will be certificated by 3CX in this month.

We heartly apologize for the inconvenience that it caused for you.

Please give us some more days and trust we're trying our best to solve this issue.

We'll keep you posted as soon as we had any update.

Thanks for your understanding and support!

So I have to wait a few months. So much for "supported phones"

I was wondering when someone else was going to run into this issue. I started working with Fanvil directly after my reseller installed 90 without testing. Fanvil just quit working with me and told me to use their custom template. I tried to explain to them that I could not since I am on 3CX hosted. That is the point they just ghosted.

Reseller ended up rolling in 90 X4U replacements and returning 90 X3U pros. The phones would not register the timezone settings, nor reboot or accept BLF config changes.

I have the exact same issue with Fanvil X3SG Pro. Phone came loaded with 2.4.12.5, but 3CX says I need to use approved firmware 2.4.7.5. The update fails when try to flash the older 2.4.7.5 firmware from 3CX. I can't get the RPS provisioning to work. I assume the newer, unapproved firmware is to blame? I have a router phone already working.

It could be, that firmware has not been tested with 3CX and I believe it is sending an invalid user-agent.

You might have to talk with Fanvil to help you install the 3CX supported version if the phone refuses to work, at least until they revise their firmware and provide us with a newer version so we can publish it on our platform.

It also could be that 3cx and Fanvil dropped the ball, 3cx support is internal but the fact that they don't know is disturbing. (did you check?) No? (thanks the for great "Supported, preferred phones") <- Sarcasm as you're not getting it.

Yes, and 3cx is suppose to certify it, Fanvil didn't send it, 3cx didn't ask for it. Its ok the customer will do all the work and even post it here for the others who listened to 3cx..

I am waiting. I thought that preferred phones meant that the companies work together. (3cx and Fanvil) Clearly this isn't the case. I should have just stayed with grandstream...

Just got this today from Fanvil email:

I wanted to inform you that we will possibly be giving you feedback next week since this week my colleagues are out of the office.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I did get the X3SG Pro provisioned running 2.4.12.5 using RPS. I ended up using the phone GUI to reset everything I could find - the 3CX instructions didn't full reset it. Maybe I did it wrong. Make sure you clear all the config content in the GUI:

The Fanvil X3SG phones work, but not fully. I cannot save changes, reboot, or reprovision them from the 3CX console. Every time I send a command, console bounces back. The console does show the Fanvil phones are active, and the phones do indeed work. I can send changes to my Yealink phones via the console and they work perfectly, so it appears it's an issue with Fanvil.

I'm frustrated too. I'm new to VoIP and new to 3CX. I'm using 3CX SMB and really like it so far. However, I bought those Fanvil phones because they were at the top of "'preferred" phone list and the physical size was appealing. I also had read that 3CX is promoting Fanvil devices. Then I learn it's all still up in the air, with each party blaming the other for gaps in firmware and support. It really reduces the credibility of both partners. The approved 3CX firmware is around two years old? That seems like a security risk.

I have two Yealink T46U phones, one is a router phone. They work flawlessly and config was super easy. So I guess my recommendation is buy the Yealink phones instead? I want to like the Fanvil units, but this is making it real hard.

Thanks.

{Just got this from Fanvil, if any customer cares}

Just to inform you that after verifying internally with the R&D area they have informed me that there is still no estimated date for the release of the official firmware, since the process of launching a new version requires internal testing in 3CX before being released. Currently, our firmware is already available, but 3CX is required to comply with the internal testing process before it can be released.

I have asked that the case be followed up with high priority so that it can be available soon on the 3CX platform.

We hope that in the coming weeks it can be like this.

Thank you,

FANVIL STATES: The firmware has already been developed by us and shared with 3CX, it now requires passing 3CX's internal testing process before being published.

So 3cx anyone home, any date for this?

I've been doing this a long time now - sooner or later, everyone says this. Just a better phone all around.

Can 3cx please give me an update for certification, the BLF and other features do not work correctly without the 3cx version of this firmware. again fanvil has sent the new Fanvil X3U Pro firmware to 3cx for testing/adjustment.

Anyone from 3cx here? Can I call 3cx support? help?

Hello 3cx? Do I have to pay $75 to open a ticket to ask 3cx to work on this? Again Fanvil already sent 3CX firmware to certify it. It looks like they are not doing their job.

Again the certified 3cx firmware listed for Fanvil X3U Pro cannot be used.

Fanvil X3u Pro now ships with -
Current Software Version:2.4.12.5

Above can't be flashed with the 3CX Certified firmware. Do I have to pay $75 and open a ticket?

I cross-checked 3CX and Fanvil firmware webpages and it looks like this issue impacts all the "Pro" model Fanvil phones. I wish 3CX or Fanvil would've just said that right up front. A little note at the top of the 3CX "How to Configure Fanvil X and XU Series" page would have saved me. 'Pro model Fanvil phones are not yet supported by 3CX' - that would do it..

In my case it was NBD just to use another Fanvil model and avoid all this. The X4U-V2 units have worked great for me so far. But, it still irritates me that I have to buy hardware just to test it. I though that was the point of the 3CX "Supported Phones" list.

I've read a lot of posts with people having issues with Fanvil firmware and support. It can be hit or miss. What a shame. I really like the hardware. Fanvil is so close to having an awesome product, and then bombs it right at the end with FW. I hope they get it figured out. I sincerely want to be a Fanvil fan.

Well 3cx is Zero help (not really surprised) several days after emailing them they say Fanvil has not sent it. Strange as Fanvil is ALREADY shipping the phones out. So they don't care about 3cx, and 3cx does not care about Fanvil as they did not reach out or ask for anything.

Fanvil says today that they are 'testing' firmware. Which is odd because the X3U pro phones are already shipping. So I think Fanvil support is clueless and does not care -- nor do they say what version they are 'testing'

Pro tip: don't purchase Fanvil phones. 3cx preferred is a joke. No one knows what is happening, especially not 3cx.

Well I reached out to Fanvil and finally got the new 3cx firmware for the Fanvil X3U Pro Phones. RENAME the attached ZIP file to .Z after downloading!

Also: the link that fanvil sent me,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OWY393HzN_wV48Xh0PwQuSkKlSgILLCH/view

Currently, we are in communication with 3CX to update the new version, planned to be released alongside 3CX V20. Regarding the new version, we have completed testing, and the link is provided here: (above)

If you cannot wait until the 26th release,I suggest to first upgrade to the version provided in the link above. This will allow to use it in conjunction with 3CX.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best wishes
