Hi everyone,

I have a pretty basic system, in regular working hours (set globally) a single DID is directed to a Queue extension '801 General'.

During globally-set out-of-hours times (before 9am and after 5pm), the inbound rule for 'Destination for calls outside of office hours' are directed to Ring group extension '802 Out of Hours' that rings for 10 secs at a couple of physical phones, before diverting to a dummy extension '897 Out of Hours Voicemail' to which I've recorded an out of hours voicemail message. This all works fine.

Today is a public holiday in my part of Australia and I wanted to divert all inbound calls all day to a unique holiday voicemail message. I went to the 'Holiday' area of the settings and setup the date and time of the holiday (which was midnight to midnight for today), then added the unique holiday voicemail. I then went back to the Inbound Rules and made sure I'd ticked the ' Play holiday prompt when it's a global holiday'.

I rang the inbound number this morning (around 8am) and heard the new holiday message, but then the system added another message which was a British lady saying 'Thank you, goodbye' and the system hung up, instead of going to the Out of Hours voicemail.

I've had to fix it by changing the globally set hours to remove today as a work day and change the normal voice mail message (at Extension 897) to the unique holiday recording. But I now have to remember to go back and change those settings before next Friday or no calls will come through.

Can someone help me understand this? I thought 'holiday' times were basically the same as 'Calls outside of office hours' so the inbound rule should direct the call accordingly after playing the holiday prompt? Or is there a conflict between the holiday hours (midnight to midnight) and global working hours (9am-5pm)?

Thanks

Sorry - I figured it out guys, I didn't realise the call was routed to the Digital Receptionist 'HOL IVR' which was how the generic office closed message was being added then the call was getting dropped.

I've now added another dummy voicemail extension for holidays, removed all prompts from the holiday date/time settings and now the HOL IVR directs calls after no input for 1 sec to the new dummy voicemail extension where I've added the unique holiday message. All working.
