Hey Team,

I did a fresh install of 2.4 on a new machine today. After install of Elastix 2.4 I could not sign in with the admin and password issued at time of installation of OS. I changed root password at the cmd line with no issue, but still can not sign in from GUI log-in page. Page just keeps refreshing with no notice of wrong user name or password. I re-installed thinking there might have been issues and the same occurred again.

I then decided to install Elastix 2.5....the same is occurring....unable to sign in at log-in page and it shows no reason why...

So my question is...... I need to put all the inbound and outbound call recordings on one of the larger hard drives so I assigned /var to a 1tb drive by itself....as I believe the recordings are stored with in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds? I assume that if I am able to see the log-in page that the server should see the rest of the web pages within /var/www...am I wrong. Are the in/out bound phone call recording stored else where?

I could see maybe an issue with one version of OS but not two, especially since I have both versions of this OS working on smaller machines....

Any suggestions?

I guess I'm not sure what I'm doing any more....

I re-installed a fresh install of both the 2.4 and 2.5 versions again thinking there may have been issues from the previous installs....

With either one I am experiencing the same issue on this machine... I have used both of these version on other machine without login issues but this machine is eating my lunch.... I simply just can't get past the login screen...

I am using a Dell Precision 490 with 16 gig of memory and two 1TB hard drives..... Need to know if anyone else have had these same type of issues with this machine? It has to be something with that is particular to this machine....

Any suggestions or clues would be very helpful....

Re: Can't sign on as admin --- Update

I just did a fresh install on this same machine with Elastix 4 and the same is occurring.... Can't get past the log-in screen... once I enter admin/password (or any other person I set up as a user during install) it just refreshes back to the log-in screen with no errors, wrong passwd or anything else....

I have to believe it is a problem with this machine.....but I'll be darn if I can figure out what it is.....

Can someone advise how to turn all firewalls and iptables off.... wondering if it is a problem within the iptables.....

Thanks,

Hi.

What happen when you try to connect on EWG?
You've got a login and it returns "Wrong password", right?
# elastix-admin-passwords --change works or doesn't work?

Try to check the priviledges here /var/www/db/acl.db and its owner.

In the forum you have some thread about how to reset admin password manually without elastix-admin-passwords --change
You need to edit acl.db and next, change md5_password key.
You may compare your curent password coded in md5 with a fresh password coded in md5 also and compare them.

Sir Franck,

That's the problem.... I don't get "wrong password" or anything else... The screen just refreshes back to a blank log-in screen...

I will check the other info you enclosed and see what the results are.

I know I can sign-on to the server with the cmd line on the console, and I can sign in to the server with putty.... or filezilla, just can't sign-on with the web gui...

What I'm fixing to do is see if I can bypass the login and go directly to the systems page.... Since this won't be attached to the internet and will be used by a small business the owner really doesn't want to have to sign on each time he needs to make a change.....

Asterisk is alive?
When you launch amportal restart, all is right?
Can you connect on asterisk in CLI mode?
Did you read the log files here: /var/log/httpd/.....

Re: Can't sign on as admin ---- Solved

Sir Franck,

Found the issue... found that I had a defective router.... several ports went south for the spring....

Thank you for your help and suggestions... Never would have believed it was a router problem.... New router and all is working as should be...

Thanks again,
