I'm trying to edit the emergency number called email alert to include the extension name but I'm getting "Parameter %%EXTFIRSTNAME%% does not exist" error. I copied it directly from another email prompt, so it's not misspelled. What's the deal?

Edit: I've made a post in the Ideas section and I'd appreciate upvotes: allow-all-variables-in-all-email-emplates-44797.html

The variables are email specific I believe.
I've tried moving variables to others and get similar error.

That doesn't make a lick of sense.

Anyone from 3CX, why is this even a thing at all?

I've run into this same issue. The default email template for emergency number dialed only includes the extension number. It would be very helpful to include the name of the extension in the email as well.

Is there a variable that can be included in the template so that the extension name is displayed?

Regarding email templates in general: Is there a list of which variables may be used in each type of email template? I found this link: http://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/customizing-email-templates/ which indicates that a list of variables is displayed on the right hand side of the screen when editing email templates, but I don't see it on my screen (3CX version 14 with SP3).

Ha, I forgot I made this topic before. I don't see the list of variables next to the template editor, either. 14sp3

Up until V14 SP2 there used to be a side bar with all the parameters listed, however all available parameters in each email template have since been included in the default templates so it kind of felt redundant.

Why can't we use all parameters in all templates?

Because not all templates draw information from the same place.

To request more parameters per template, I would recommend creating a topic in the 'Ideas' section of our website.

+1
