is it possible to catch calls to non existing extensions?
e.g. a external caller wants to call the 770 but missclicks and calls the 670 which is not assigned to anyone, is there a way to catch these calls and route them to a other extension?

Hello @dOPELELE

When setting up a digital receptionist you can assign the option "If input is invalid then:" to an extension so if the caller dials an non existent extension then the call will be forwarded to the specified extension

thanks for your reply. we do not want to use a digital receptionist and furthermore, is a external caller know the extension of the person he wants to call, why would he not directly call the extension and do i through the dig. rec. instead?

the system we have right now allows us to route all incoming calls which go to a non existing extension to our main number.

is there no other way to route these calls?

How will the caller dial the extension directly with the extension number? Trunks have the ability to route all calls arriving to the trunk that are not assigned to an Inbound rule to the main trunk number destination.

In that case you either create an inbound rule for all unassigned DIDs and route them to the operator or all DIDs that do not have an inbound rule will be routed to the main trunk number destination so assign that to the operator extension.

i found a solution for my problem:

i just added a did: "01123456*"
then added it into inbound roules and routed the calls to a existing extension.

it is important to have this roule on the bottom, otherwise the other dids wont work anymore.

just tested is it with serveral non existing extension and it worked fine.

Glad to see a solution to the issue was found and thank you for updating the thread.
