We have a scenario where a client would like to have an INBOUND call answered with a message (can do this with DR). Then, they would like to immediately move that call into an available Shared Parking location.

Does anyone know if this is something CFD could accommodate?

The specific use case looks like this:
- Extension is busy on the phone.
- Extension has 10 Shared Parking Locations as BLFs on a T54W Phone.
- New Caller hits the DR and hears the "Thanks for calling, please hold" message
- New Caller is transferred to an available SP and the BLF on the T54W now indicates a new called has arrived in the SP location.
- While this is the case, in the event another new call is received, the above steps would be repeated and the 2nd new caller is placed on a difference/available SP BLF

Well, a SP is a system extension:

So your CFD app can use a C# script to check if that extension is free or not, for example, the following C# script will return true when SP0 has a call, or false otherwise:
C#:
var sharedParking0 = PhoneSystem.Root.GetDNByNumber("SP0");
return sharedParking0.GetActiveConnections().Length > 0;

Then you can check all the shared parking slots and transfer the call to the first you find empty.

Please note however that 2 calls connected to a CFD app at the same time will compete for the same slot, so you will have a race condition if you do it like that. I mean, 2 calls check the availability, both find SP0 free, and both transfer to the same shared parking slot almost at the same time. If you can live with this, then the solution is simple. If you need to synchronize somehow between calls to avoid this, then this could become quite challenging.

Hi Mike,

Yes, this can be done. I'll describe what we have done, and then you can extrapolate how that applies to your need.

Our customer needed a phone number for family members to contact their spouse. Since many employees in the manufacturing facility do not have a 3CX phone, the system prompts the caller to enter the employee's name, similar to the 3CX company directory. The call is then transferred to the next available park location. Simultaneously, a call is made to the overhead paging extension, which uses text-to-speech to announce, "Matthew Orr, you have a call waiting on park location X." The employee can then walk to any phone and pick up the call from the park location.
