CFD: Redirecting a call to a SIP URI (via Trunk)

Hi,

Trying to avoid solving this with WITHOUT an external MITM SBC / SIP Broker / PBX, and really groping around in the dark right now.

With CFD / scripts - is it possible to redirect the call via a Trunk (using MyCall.RouteToAsync?), but with a custom URI, such as "sip:random_id_determined_during_script@desination_trunk.com", where desination_trunk.com is already there, but in this case, we don't be following any outbound dialling rules?

Thanks

Sorry, I meant *without*.

I guess you understood that already. Thanks for your response.

We're trying to palm off calls to an external AI Agent (that can do real-time API calls to help answer questions, etc.) and they have a non-trivial sip URI format via a trunk to handle those.

It's a murky world at this level. Scant info all scattered here and there, with only concrete instructions to use external providers starting with T and ending with o, which still requires our PSTN trunk to be relocated. No thanks.

Here's hoping (and hijacking of the thread, sorry) that somone knows a little bit about what I'm talking about and can nudge me in the right direction.

Maybe you can register that AI agent as a SIP extension in 3CX? That way you could transfer calls to that extension.

Another provider we checked has this. Very simple and nice.

But not this one.

Trying to convince our developers to move, but their reasoning is that this particular one is not battle tested. Trying not to twist too many arms.

Are you aware of any big-name AI Agent vendors that can operate via SIP Extensions?

Not the ones I have been working on (Azure / Open AI / Gemini). They provide an audio stream you can use to interact with them, but not SIP / RTP. We're actually building a bridge to bind those with our product SIP Caller, but this is only to initiate outbound calls with AI agents. But if you have developer resources, I can tell you that it's not that hard to add a SIP / RTP interface in front of those engines.
