Hi,
Our core-business is hosting RDS (Remote Desktop Servers) for customer, where they login and have their applications available. One of our customers wants to be able to have his CRM tool work with 3CX, AND use softphones. The CRM tool runs on the RDS itself (not a webbased application) and works with TAPI. The multiline TAPI driver works-ish, but unfortunately it requiers the 3CX Windows client to be installed on the RDS. On its own that's not an issue, but making calls through RDS / RDP session with mapped audio and mic results in too much latency.

Now, in the 3CX Windows client we can choose a deskphone if configured, all of the configured deskphones show up to choose one, and then it works pretty well. However, the customer wants to use softphone. That means we have to install the softphone (or the Chrome Webextension) on the local PC of the users. All fine and well, but unfortunately from the Windows client installed in the RDS we can NOT select the local softphone, and we can NOT select the Chrome plugin. The only choice is 'softphone' and that seems to imply the softphone you are currently working on.

So I can't seem to get this working, and I'm not sure how to proceed. I think it comes down to this, in order of 'preference':

- Most prefered: can TAPI be made to talk to the 3CX server directly, like how it works with for example Asterisk, in stead of relying on the 3CX Windows client? With Asteriks you can install a 'multi-line' TAPI driver like https://sourceforge.net/projects/activa/files/Asterisk Activa TSP/ActivaTSP-1.8.14/ and have it talk to the server, not needing any other software on that particular pc / server / RDS session, and it works perfectly fine.

- If not so, can it be made so that the Chrome Webextension is recognized and selectable in the Windows client?

- If not so, can it be made so that in the 3CX Windows Client you can actually select WHICH 3CX Softphone you want to use / control? If I have multiple Windows client softphones configured for an extension, they all show up in the 3CX server just fine, so they obviously can be distinguished.

I assume there are more people that use RDS as their actual workspace, with 3CX installed there. How do you work with 3CX in that situation?

I can't believe no-one is using RDS or Citrix in combination with 3CX? There must be people that use it like that?
