Hi All,

We have a few large organisations that always want attended transfer as their transfer method (Rather than blind transfer)
At the moment any time a new extension is created or a phone is assigned to an extension, the default template (Yealink) sets the transfer method as blind.

I understand that it is possible to change this in the phone template, but once you do this the system is in an unsupported state because you are using a custom template.
Is there any way to specify that new phones have attended transfer by default?

Thanks

You can change this setting under the provioning tab for each phone.

You may be able to select multiply extensions and change on mass

Thanks for that, I am aware of the setting in the provisioning tab, we are going to be creating hundreds of extensions and I was hoping to not have to manually go and change each one.

I have checked by bulk selecting extensions and editing them. Unfortunately, this does not provide the transfer option to change en-masse.

I am sure this can be changed with a custom XML that could be specified in the Extension import CSV, but this would result in an unsupported setup.

I'm afraid bulk edit will not work in this case as it cannot be used for IP Phone configuration.

If you're referring to the export/import function for extensions then it is supported. What is not supported is using a custom template file for the device. That being said, you can export an extension that has an IP Phone configured on it and check for the following parameter:
If it's value is:
""BXfer""
it means it's set to blind transfer and if it's:
""AttXfer""
It's set to attended.

What you have to keep in mind when exporting/importing is that BLF key configuration does not carry over and you cannot import an extension that already exists.

On another note, you have yet to add these devices meaning you will inevitably go through the Phone Provisioning tab of every new device you'll be adding. Why not simply just switch from Blind to Attended before clicking OK while adding these phones?
