Hi All,

I changed my on prem Debian PBX IP address manually, PBC worked fine, however when a handset has to provision i.e. firmware update or a new handset, the server host on the handset shows the old IP address and obviously will not register until I manually change it. I suspect that the phone gets the address from the template, however I cannot find the parameter for the local server address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Rob

Since you changed the public ip you need to ensure that the FQDN public does resolved correctly.
Have you tried also to restart the PBX services?

Sorry maybe misunderstood here, is this regarding the local ip of the server?

So the phones were provisioned local with the local ip interface?

In the provisioning configuration the phone have the old ip and this ip will try to contact.
At this point though there are two options, the first and simplest is the factory reset the ip phones and re-provision.
In case this option is not available (due to the amount of ip phones) you need to revert the ip back and the below steps must be followed in order(VERY IMPORTANT) to avoid the factory reset:
• A local DNS must be set in your network.
• Create a local DNS records for the PBX FQDN to resolve to the current Local IP of the PBX
• Check guideline here for more information.
• Go to extensions<<Phone Provisioning and select interface the FQDN for all local phones
• Re-provision all ip phones.
• If the records have been set correctly then the ip phone will register
• Change the Local ip of the PBX.
• After restart the services
• Change the DNS records so the FQDN resolves to the new IP of the PBX
• Re-provision all ip phones

I will give that a try, thank you.

Let us know the outcome. ;)
