extension 100 is the system owner since it was the first extension created i guess. i created another user and made it the system owner but i can not take that role away from extn 100. can this be done and any instructions on how to get that done would be great. thank you in advance

After you have assigned the new extension as System Owner, returning to the first system owner, under Rights tab, you are not able to change the rights for this extension?
Have you ensured that you are making this change for the Default Group?

I did go back to that user and tried to make him just a regular user after I made another user the system owner but it gives me an error that I can’t down grade his rights. I wasn’t able to delete that user either. Not sure what you mean by making the change for the default group

Under the Rights of each extension, if there are multiple Groups you are able to assign the rights for each Group, have you ensured that you are adding to the Default Group?

I only have one group, the default group. I cant remove him from that group, i cant delete his extension, and i cant change is role. Just not sure how to make another user the system owner in his place, he is the last person they want with this type of access

are you accessing the management console with admin credentials?

thats a good question. i'm logging in with the credentials are on the management console when i go to my systems / then clicking on this customers management console. where would i find out if i'm loggin in as the admin

are those saved credentials on your browser?

yes and now that i look at it i'm logged in as him. where would i find the admin login credentials

ok i set a new password for a fake user i have built in the system and used our service@ email address for it. logged in as that user after making it the system owner and i was able to remove him as a owner. I guess my question is how would i find the admin login credentials for the entire system so i'm not logging in as any one particular user?

First of all you need to check what is the administrator email(you can find it under Dashboard<<Settings<<Email<<Notifications)
Then in the management console use as username admin and use 2 different wrong passwords. On the second attempt you will see the Forgot Password option. You can press the option and receive the email to proceed from there.
