Chat Log nearly impossible to parse

Ever since I started using 3cx for our firm, the chat logs have been really hard to parse or understand why they are so hard to search. I cant find messages I just sent to a thread. They dont show up. I have to go the beginning of time to see the thread, then comb through. It seems to save the conversation using the date the thread started, not when each message was sent or received. Since the update, that date is now February 26th, and I cant search before that. I do have a back up of the server before that but Im unsure of how to restore messages from that back up.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure Im not doing something wrong. I just cant search for messages unless I filter to the beginning of time and scrolling through. I absolutely cant search for messages sent on X day by user Y to Z.

Are you searching from the Web Client or from the Chat logs in the Admin section?

Log in as a system owner, and enable the chats from the Dashboard


and then in the Reports section to your Chat log:



In there, you will have the ability to see the chats, as well as search :

Yes I have that enabled, but if I want to find, say, a message sent yesterday, I cant look for it with that date. Noting shows up.

I have to search for the beginning of the thread, and to find that you have to search to the beginning of time.

And then go into the thread and manually search for the message you are looking for





So my question is: is this how this is supposed to work? Since I started using 3cx, this is the only way I can get messages I am looking for to come up. I have to go to the beginning of time, then manually scroll to the messages I need. Call logs do not work this way, and I can search for the dates and times and the come up. Messages do not.

May i ask, the chat you are trying to search is still an open conversation or you have "Dealt With" it?
