Hi,
We run 3cx (Enterprise 16.0.4.493 on Debian), and my PC is Ubuntu 19.10 64bit with Chrome 79.0. The 3cx server is hosted in house.

I've installed the Chrome Extension, but I'm struggling to get any call audio, in either direction. I can hear the ringtone and DTMF tones when dialing a number, but can't exchange voice audio. Even calling the *777 echo service doesn't work - I don't hear anything.

I know my USB headset works OK - it works fine with Skype for example. Has anyone experienced this? Is there an obvious place to start looking?

3cx passes the firewall test quite happily...

I forgot to add, I also tested a Windows 10 Pro + Chrome device on our network and had the same outcome.

I'm having the same issue, running on MacOS 10.15.2 I get ring and DTMF tones but no audio on calls. If I remove the extension and just use the web client everything works fine. Tested on two different Macs both running latest versions of Chrome and MacOS with same results.

Occasionally if I restart the browser I can get audio for one call using the extension but it fails again on a second attempt.

Have you got any antivirus browser addons?

No anti virus and tried disabling all other extensions in the browser. As I say the web client in the same browser works fine it's only the extension with no audio for me

Same here, no Antivirus plugins, web client worked fine, just the Chrome Extension that seems to be an issue.

So I installed the Chrome extension and called and couldnt hear myself.

If you call VM EXT do you receive audio?

My Microphone had muted for some reason so I unmuted it from Control Panel > Sound > Recording > Microphone > Levels

13804

Now it works..

My 3CX is 16.0.4.493

For me, the Mic is definitely unmuted. Calling voicemail results in the same - no audio, in either direction.

let me fire up my Ubuntu install and ill let you know..

Ok so I've tested and it works.

I would check Google Chrome has permission to use your headset or even reset permissions

My permissions look as yours do. Our PBX is hosted in house, so I access it via the LAN IP. I've tried via the WAN DNS name, and the issue occurs there too.

Are there any permissions in 3cx that govern the use of the plugin in some way?

I dont belive there is, it just worked. Have you tried reinstalling the extension or tried reinstalling Chrome?

I have same problem. Affects both my windows and apple computer. App on phone works fine though. Tried with and without the browser extension and get ringing sound but as soon as other side picks up I can't hear them and they can't hear me. No firewall restrictions or anything and fresh install of both computers and browsers.

@1jjuk So youre having an issue using the softphone via webrowser as well as the 3cx chrome extension? Did you do the echo test dialing *777?

Yes that’s right. *777 does the same as all other numbers I call.

(sorry to OP for hijacking)

No problem ;-) Glad to hear it's not just me having the issue.

If its of any help, I have previously used the browser and browser extension methods successfully in this environment...

Soooo I'm having this issue too. -_- windows softphone works fine too but chrome extension app not so much.
