CID Rules & Allowed Country Codes

Question about which of these 2 categories override each other. Here is a proposed scenario and please correct my thinking if it is incorrect.

If I am only allowing the United Sates and Canada in my country codes, would I be able to create a CID rule stating a caller from a country different from those 2 and would it allow those calls in since I specified it? Or would it continue to block that other country since I have not allowed it in the other section?

This was a scenario a client proposed to me as they may need to receive a call from a vendor, they work with whom is based out of Austria. Them and I do not want to allow the Austria country code at all times though for security and accidental dialing purposes. Any advice on this matter would greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Allowed Country Codes concerns permitted outgoing calls, CID concerns rules for incoming calls.

As well as employees accidentally dialing out. It's mostly just a curiosity on which setting overrides the other. My assumption is the allowed country codes trumps the CID rules but I was wanting to confirm.

To reiterate: CID rules are for incoming calls. Allowed country codes are for outgoing calls. The two have nothing to do with each other. They don't block each other.

You can use CID rules to route incoming calls from specific phone numbers in 3CX to specific endpoints; that's what they're for.

Yes, you can also block incoming calls from Austria with CID rules, for example. But the CID blacklist is better suited for that.

To prevent employees from calling Austria, you don't allow this country in the allowed country codes.
