Hi there,

I was just wondering how exactly I'd provision my C7940. I am running 3CX on google cloud and the provisioning method only comes up as LOCAL LAN, and no other options,

What can I do?

Hello @AdenK

Please note that Cisco devices are not supported for remote provisioning and you will need to have the phones locally to the PBX to provision them. To do so you will need to create a VPN connection so the phones appear as local to the PBX.

How many phones do you have ? personally I think it would be best to get some cost effective supported phones and use the SBC or STUN:

https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/

If you want to set those phones up to Google you will need a VPN connection:

I only have 1 physical phone within the PBX (The C7940). Its for an information hotline, and I need an actual phone because I'm supervising and helping the consultants that are volunteering. Everyone else is using 3cx soft phones on their own computers.

Rather than all the messing about then I would say get a cheap supported phone (Yealink T19 for example) and set it up using remote STUN (no VPN or additional hardware required).

That will solve your issue very quickly and easily.

Unfortunately, I don't have the liberty to order another phone.

As this phone does not support the connections to the 3CX cloud, you have two options

1. Create a site to site vpn.
2. Purchase a new phone

There is not much more info we can give you
