Cisco/Linksys phones. hold music during blind transfer?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I get no rings or hold music during blind transfers from both of my gateways (grandstream 4108 and linksys single line (3102?) So you get silence until the user picks up, or until voice mail picks up. I found i get the same results blind transferring from any of my phones which are all linksys and cisco. Not sure if this is how it is supposed to work or if i have an issue. I do get hold music during a regular transfer.


If i hit my auto attendant line i get hold music there as well after entering the extension.

I think its an issue, weather i do blind transfer or just normal transfer i get no hold music. Plus if the caller on the blind transfer doesn't leave a voicemail and hangs up after the beep i'm left with a 2 Minute long blank voicemail. I have paid support but they want wireshark logs and i just haven't had the time to deal with it. If i use the assistant though i get hold music and no 2 minute long blank voicemail if no message is left. So it works right so i know it has to deal with my polycomm 320 and linksys SPA- phones.

It would be helpful if one of you could submit a ticket with a wireshark capture and the logs so we may try and replicate it.

Ok i wasnt even sure i had an issue. I have wireshark but im not very savvy with it. Im sure i could set to verbose though and check. Should users be hearing a ringback or hold music during the bxfer?

This is the 3cx log of my call hitting my auto attendant. I then connected to 121 and was provided hold music.

Once connected to 121 i created a bxfer to ext 103, at which point there was no ringback or hold music

Tried to attach the wireshark cap to this as a file, its rather long because im not really sure how to set it up to only capture the required data =( sorry

In described call scenario, The extension 121 (502G) doesn't send request to put call on hold before the request to transfer call.
It is not expected behavior of the phone.
Try to check following scenario.
1. make call from one of local phone(Phone1) directly to 121
2. put call on hold on extension 121.
Q.Does Phone1 hear music on hold?
3. retrieve call from hold on ext 121
4. transfer call (on extension 121) to other extension (Phone2)
Q.Does Phone1 receive music on hold when Phone2 rings?

There is hold music if the call is put on hold.

There is also hold music during a regular screened transfer.

Any time you use bxfer regardless you get no ringback or hold music. If there is a way to get the phone to do this that would be perfect but im not sure. Our operator phones are 525G phones which have a little more option than the 502 but i did not see anything in the phone gui.

With Cisco/Linksys phone as well as with all other phones it is recommended to use blind transfer only in case if destination is "automata" ( call park, queue, IVR) . To transfer call to other extension - use attended transfer.

In case if destination of blind transfer is not reachable (any reasons), 3CX Phone system tries to return call to the phone where from it was transferred. Unfortunatelly, this procedure is not 100% reliable because phone should also be ready to get call back.
Absence of music on hold(specific to Cisco/Linksys phones) is only one piece of bigger problem related to blind transfer.

Still not hearing music on hold or ringing during blind transfers (bxfer) on Cisco SPA504G and SPA525G phones...

We have tried toggling support re-invites, replaces header, etc. No luck.

Are we supposed to be hearing music on hold or ringing? The attended transfers work fine -(we hear music).

Same here, I'll post a ticket on cisco support but I cant beleive this issue goes back to 2006, there was many firmwares since then.
