Cisco Sidecar Stops Showing Ext Status

We have Cisco SPA514g phones with the SPA500DS sidecars, which show who's on the phone with a red light. Occasionally the red lights will stop lighting up so my users can't tell who's on the phone or not. A reboot of the phone clears it. Any idea what could be causing this or what could fix it?
