Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if you can clear the blacklist in PBX?

We've had some weird issues with our blacklist and would like to remove all entries and start from scratch. The only way we've been able to delete entries is doing so one by one. But we have over 4,000 entries.

Appreciate any feedback.

You could do it with the Call Control API, but I question whether it would be worth the effort for a one-time task.

To clarify - we're trying to delete blacklisted phone numbers, not IP addresses.

re: vopitoys - we haven't explored the 3CX API yet, so we're trying to find another way. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

The list of numbers has to be accessible via terminal, somewhere in the PBX.

It's in the PostgreSQL database, but I strongly urge you not to access the database directly. That's a surefire way to get your PBX listed as unsupported. It's frowned upon to read the information directly. Changing the data directly is a whole different ballgame. Don't do it EVER. If you are a programmer, you can change the blacklisted phone numbers via the Call Control API. That's your only alternative.

Well, maybe you could back up your 3CX server, open the Zip, edit the XML, then restore from the edited backup? That's a little scary too, but I think that might be possible without programming.

Thanks, Matthew.

We won't be touching the db, in that case. I did review the XML file, which could be an option.

Our issue is this: we have several numbers (owner's cell, owner's family) which are being denied at the PBX (603 error, Not Answered). This JUST started on 11/15 - out of nowhere.

This is a PBXexpress provisioned Azure VM.

3CX support is giving us a long list of odd required changes and actions in order to pursue the ticket (I'd rather rebuild the PBX than do what they're asking). Their advice doesn't make sense to us (making significant changes across the PBX).

Our thought was that these numbers might be sitting in the blacklist db, away from our view in the PBX interface - hence, our original question re: editing the db.

I realize I'm changing the topic, here - but I want to paint a full picture of where we're at.

We're stuck. Client is mad. Support doesn't seem to have a clear understanding of the issue.

To be safe, I would back up a test 3CX server that has no blacklisted numbers defined. Look at that XML file, then back up the customer's 3CX and edit the XML file to look like the one from the test 3CX server. Then restore from the edited backup.

Hello @Karl Malone

Have you searched for the number in the blacklist numbers? Could it match to a different number added with a wildcard?
Also what significant change did 3CX support asked you to do in order to pursue the ticket?
