Hi,
I'm using the Call Control API to create new extensions. Recently, extensions are now being created with no codecs assigned to them. Additionally, since 15.5 SP6, the web password is warning it's underlength.

Looking at the CreateExtension Method in the API there are no properties for setting the codecs or the web password. I can get the codecs using getCodecs but I can't work out how I can apply these to a new or existing extension (if they're missing) without using the GUI.

It looks like the API hasn't been updated to incorporate these new settings. The CHM for the API certainly hasn't, but the DLL doesn't seem to contain anything useful either.

Is there a workaround for these? Why are the default codecs set in the params for internal/external calls not being applied to new accounts which are created via the API - seems a bit of an oversight?

Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks :)

Hello @Lewis Burgess,

Please check the extension's DN properties for this.

Codecs should be in the property named "MYPHONETEMPLATEINFO", along with other info. So please check the value of that property for a known extension, and then check how to edit it according to your needs for a new extension.

The web password is in the DN property "SERVICES_ACCESS_PASSWORD".

Kind regards.

Hi @edossantos,

Thanks for replying. However, I'm not sure where this property is - it's not referenced in the '3CX Configuration and Call Control API v2.0.0.0' CHM file, nor in the 3cxpscomcpp2.dll file I'm connecting to with Powershell to create the extensions. Could you point me in the right direction, please?

Many thanks,
Lewis.

Hello Lewis,

The CHM help file for the 3CX Call Control API has the information you need.

The DN class has a method named GetPropertyValue, which will give you the value of a specific property for a particular DN. Also it has another method named SetProperty which will let you set a property. Any extension is a DN object, so it has these methods as well.

Kind regards.
