Hi, I have a customer who has a cloud PBX from another brand, he has several Cisco 6851 phones, he asks me which features are compatible when reusing phones with 3CX and what malfunctions he would encounter.
He would like to install a Raspberry SBC with 3CX in the Cloud.

Anyone have experience with these phones?

Hi Albert,

Since those phones are not supported, it's unknown..

I would recommend to them that they go with supported phones and sell/auction the batch of existing ones.

They could also try to use these while slowly replacing them in batches (to keep the cost manageable) but it would be entirely up to you to test / debug them, and this may not be worth your time.

At the end of the day a decision has to be made as to whether they want a solid experience or whether they are willing to experiment and endure whatever issues they come across

I don't understand why the Cisco multiplatform firmware phones are not supported. For example, the Cisco 8800 series multiplatform version are not by any means legacy/EoL, and are widely supported (even preferred) by larger vendors such as RingCentral and 8x8. Even 3CX markets this guy (
and
) using Cisco desk phones. Makes no sense.
