Conference attendee gets dropped call if conf is not active?

New User/Install - 3CX 12 SP1 on Windows 2012 Server.

When a caller attempts to join a conference bridge that is not active or they have mistyped the ID (with PIN codes enabled for creation) the call is dropped. Is this normal behavior or should the caller receive some feedback via a voice prompt indicating the conference they entered is not available and to check the number and try again?

that is all i ever got was a dropped call. very embarassing...

Dropping the call is never acceptable. Hopefully, they can easily add a prompt instead i.e. "The conference you have entered is not available. Please check the ID and try again."

The dropped call behavior is still present after 6 service packs and almost a year later. Any suggestions?

According to 3CX, this behavior is by design. When PIN codes are enabled for bridge creation, a conference bridge caller (i.e. an important customer) who mistypes the bridge ID, DTMF is detected incorrectly, or the conference has not yet started, will have their call dropped. No feedback will be given to the caller as to why, unlike most reputable conference bridge services.

Since 3CX considers this a "feature request" and not a bug fix, they have graciously added it to their "3CX Ideas App" for partner voting and possible consideration for inclusion in a future 3CX version. To all "Partners" reading this, please vote for this to be addressed.

As a 3CX customer (end-user), we find their response completely absurd.

I have no idea. I too am a non-partner. I am waiting on 3CX to send me a direct link to the entry they say was created.

Figured i would mention this. Version 12.5 beta looks to be addressing this issue!
"Conference server disconnects only if you enter an incorrect pin 4 times."
