I have a Doctor's office running 3CX v16.0.4.641 with five Yealink phones (T42s (firmware 66.85.05) qty 3, T46S (Same Firmware) qty 1, W53p (Firmware 77.83.0.65).

The nurses in the office want to have a shared voicemail box to get messages from any phone.

Is there a way for me to do that?

Nurse use always same several phones? if so perhaps you can duplicate same extension on several phones

No the Nurses all use one extension on one phone.

If allowed (you have the PIN), any extension can access any voice mailbox.

The issue comes in letting multiple users know there is a new message. Since you can't activate the message waiting indicators on multiple , different, extensions, the best way is using email. If you can set your email server to email multiple addresses at one time, when a message were left, and if nurses each carry their mobile, and the mobile providers allows email to SMS (most do), you could send a text to each, when a message was left. The other alternative might be a second line appearance on each set, to accommodate the MWI of the mailbox, or, perhaps a flashing message waiting lamp, visible to all, that is driven by an ATA, programmed to the mailbox extension.

If you are using Exchange or Exchange online you could set up a shared mail box. Create an extension (that isn't used) and have all voice mails for each the the nurses extension sent to this unused extension. They won't get the MWI on the handset, but they will at least have access to the voice mail audio files in the mailbox and will know if someone has already listened to it as the email will show as read.

The 3CX approach is to use email for notifications. However, if you need the MWI, then I encourage you to look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. We added a new feature recently where group voicemails turn on the MWI on all group members' phones and if one of the group listens to the voicemail, the MWI is turned off for everyone.

The nurses don't want to use their emails for notifications on the email. They are used to having an answering machine that they can all get to.

How are they currently alerted, that there is a new message?

Notifications are via MWI and Email. There is a central voicemail box they could access, but it also shows up in their voicemail / Email.

Right now, I have an extension that is set up as a the shared mailbox and I added as a secondary account on the phone (via the actual phone interface). I just set the missed call light for only voicemails. I now having two accounts on it is not ideal and I have had an issue with it previously. That is why I wanted to know if there was another way.

You could do pretty much the same with 3CX. If the message waiting light is at the single location and given that any extension could be used to retrieve the voicemails, you could use an ATA and a MWI add-on light such as offered here...

Do some searches, there are probably others too.
