Hi,

I would like to be able to configure a dial code to a IVR. This is because the company has random days at which we are not available for different reasons. So it’s difficult to configure these days as holidays.

Once the dial code is entered, all incoming calls should be met with a specific IVR. Is this possible within 3CX? I am aware there is a dial code set for OUT of office status, but this is configured with the wrong IVR. Even one dial code with a specific IVR would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I would create a dummy extension that all comes come in to first.

Configure the statuses of this extension to send the call to your IVRs.

you will need to change the status from the web console

To add to what @kieferschild said, if you only have IP Phones, to change the dummy extensions status you can also:

1. Dial 999
2. Press #
3. Enter Extension number
4. Enter Voicemail PIN
5. Press 9 for Options
6. Press 1 to Change Profile status.
7. Select your Profile status.

Dont dial 999 if youre in the uk :D

Hi,

I figure this status has to be changed back manually the next day? And would there be a way to configure this action via a soft key on an IP phone?

You never mentioned the requirement for auto-switching. But, there is an auto-switching feature under the extension forwarding rules.

if you wanted to change it from a phone you would need to provision a phone with the dummy extension.

I’ve taken a bit of a different approach to this. Our current office hours are configured within a Call Flow app. This configuration uses custom IVR’s to reroute the customer based on the time of day. This means that the standard “Out of office IVR” is left untouched. I suppose this is a standard IVR which every PBX has configured. This IVR is also linked to a standard dial code within 3CX (“Force 3CX Phone System to IN or OUT of office”).

I have changed the prompt of the “Out of office” IVR to a custom one, with this I can change the PBX status from every phone within the office by dialing the configured dial code. This method is, sadly, limited to one scenario.

Glad to see you managed to find a way to achieve the behavior you're looking for!
