Configure PBX

If you have more than a couple of sets, at a remote location, behind the same router, you are more than likely to have some issues. When a remote set registers, it is seen by the PBX as PublicIP & port. So, one set,. is generally no problem, with two sets, or more, each has to be assigned a unique port number so they do not appear identical to the PBX.

That is for the signalling part.

The Voice packet ports can also be an issue, depending on your router. Some can keep them straight, and send the correct packets to the correct phone, others will just cause one way, or "no audio", issues.

The SBC is the solution to this, that is why it's there.

First off, this is not supported by 3CX as far as I know so don't expect support to help with it.

Ok, this is what I have been testing today. I have 4 Yealink phones (T29G, T27G, and 2 T26P) on different ports, 5062-5065, 2 on the same extension and it is working fine including the WebClient control with the T29 & T27 without any changes to my firewall (Sonicwall). I also set one up behind a cable modem and it worked fine (Yealink T23G).

If you have iptables firewall installed on the 3CX server, you will need to allow these ports inbound. If you can, only allow them from the ip addresses at your locations. Unless you have installed it, iptables firewall is not installed by default at OVH.

Set the follow up under the extension.

Forwarding Rules:
Select accept multiple calls (This allows all phones on the extension to get calls if one is busy or even call each other)

Options:
Unselect Disallow use of extension outside the lan
At the bottom of the screen select PBX Delivers Audio (All audio will travel through the server, but this is not an issue with a good internet connection.

Phone Provisioning:
Select your phone type
Set any other provisioning options you want and save.

On the phone, set the provision URL https://FQDN:5001 to get the basic setup.

Since you cannot set the PBX to provide Stun provisioning settings, you will need to set the local SIP port to the port you want to use. I start with 5062 and increment on each phone. If a phone will be moved to another site, make sure the port number is not duplicated at that site.

Hope this makes sense. Anyone else that cares to add to this is welcome to.

Chuck
